Vince was born in the Rhondda in South Wales and studied in Cardiff, Newport and Leeds Colleges of Art and Design as well as at the Academia belle Arti in Florence and the University of Florence in Italy.
For many years he has lectured at the Arts Centre Verrocchio in Tuscany during the Summer and in 86-87 at the Miami Dade Community College in the USA.
Since 1981 Vince has lived at Poltesco on The Lizard Peninsula. He has had many one-man and mixed exhibitions in this country as well as in Florida USA.
He cannot be described as a conv entional painter as he mainly works in mixed media which includes working with charcoal, pastel, chalks, alkyd paint, gouache and pencil.
Vince has always worked in series as his way of working lends itself to taking an idea and interpreting it in a s many ways as possible. He now calls the groups of works chapters and each work is a page in that chapter.
He frequently returns to Spain and Italy and produces work based on the landscape which became increasingly abstract.
